I was hesitant to buy a "rattle can" of rubberized coating for the undercarriage of my 1956 Ford truck restoration. But with the 3M name I felt it was worth the risk. I'm glad gave it a shot. This stuff is so tacky and sprays with a certain rough pattern that you might mistake it for a factory finish. It dries quickly and is superbly durable. I actually over-sprayed and got some on the steel frame of my radiator that was to be painted to match my truck's exterior. I needed to get it off so I gabbed my MAPP gas torch. I did nothing. I had to use a heavy duty wire brush attached to my angle grinder to remove it. I bought 12 cans and I'm now doing the entire bottom of the truck. Highly recommended. Lastly, I recommend wearing a respirator and face shield, rubber gloves and clothes you don't mind getting destroyed. Spraying this is no different than using professional urethane on a car. Protect yourself.

I used 16 cans of this undercoating on my truck and car before being stationed in upstate NY for two winters of lots of salted roads. It went on very easily and did an awesome job protecting my '04 Silverado and '11 Camaro. These cans are very large and covers a lot of area. I covered the entire bottom of my truck from front to rear (some with two coats), including the insides of the wheel wells and inside of the hard to reach 'hidden' bed panels. After 2 northcountry winters, the only spots that came off were on the leading edges of the front end components but that makes sense considering they are hanging out there getting battered daily. I can honestly say this stuff works better than advertised because I just sold my truck to buy a newer model and the only rust on the entire vehicle was on the rocker panels. I realized I didn't get inside them when undercoating but I was able to still see the undercoating I applied in 2011! Worth every penny and the time invested in doing it myself. Doing the new truck very soon and will get the inside of the rocker panels this time!
